Khotang. The Diprung Chuichumma Municipality has started regular reading through student learning facilitation.

It is stated that learning facilitation has been started in 48 schools within the village municipality by maintaining social distance and adopting strict system in the roll number of students for the convenience of the school without getting health security and vigilance.

In addition, according to the ‘Gauntol Basti Learning Facilitation Campaign Procedure’ issued by the village municipality, there is an arrangement to manage the learning center in Gauntol Basti.

Students who have been living at home for a long time due to the corona virus that has spread like an epidemic around the world are looking excited after the village municipality gave permission to run the school. After the operation of the school, some people have contracted corona infection while others have been threatened with relapse.

Earlier, the village municipality had tried to make reading regular even in the midst of Corona Kahar. The village municipality had sent teachers to Gauntol from July 22 to August 22 to conduct the study as the impact of Corona did not abate even after mid-July.

The village municipality, which has stopped learning facilitation considering the increasing number of corona virus infections and the risk of health crisis, has started re-reading regularly. The school has made arrangements to facilitate reading by making morning, afternoon or evening schedule as per its convenience.

Mani Kumar Giri, coordinator of the education branch of the village, said that arrangements have been made for the students to come to the learning center on the basis of forced roll numbers to control the crowd at the school. ‘In order to reduce the congestion, arrangements have been made to keep the students at a physical distance from the classroom,’ he said, adding that ‘only one or two students can be seated on a bench in the school.’

Five thousand 512 students are currently studying in 48 schools of the village municipality which has seven wards. A meeting of the executive committee of the village municipality held on September 26 had decided to continue the regular reading as per the Student Learning Facilitation Guideline of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Bhupendra Rai, chief of the village municipality, said that they have been asked to set up learning centers in the village as much as possible in case of high number of students. ‘The municipality has adopted the method of learning facilitation to reduce the long ‘gap’ between teachers and students by minimizing the psychological impact of the corona virus on students,’ he said.

The other local levels of the district, which has ten local levels, are also preparing to conduct the blocked reading in their own way. It has been found that most of the students have lost their reading habits after the school was closed for a long time.
